When the Water Damage Comes From Above in New Orleans
A toilet in an upstairs bathroom in this New Orleans home caused water damage when it overflowed and leaked through the floor joists coming through the ceiling below. SERVPRO technicians removed the baseboards upstairs and the damaged ceiling drywall due to microbial growth and water loss. The walls within the kitchen and master bedroom were also affected with a large amount of staining as seen in the Before Photo. Due to the probability of airborne elements in the sewage-tainted water, the techs ran air scrubbers during mitigation to improve the air quality. The use of antimicrobial cleaning agents ensures the surfaces get left sanitized and ready for repairs.
